Halsey – You should be sad

“You Should Be Sad” (stylized in sentence case) is a song by American singer Halsey. It was released on January 10, 2020 through Capitol Records as the sixth single from her third studio album, Manic (2020).

Halsey revealed that she wrote the song in her living room floor, as well in Nashville, and stated that “the most petty and heartbreaking songs all come from country”. When talking about the inspiration for the outfits, Halsey confirmed a number of artists, writing, “Xtina, Gaga, Carrie, and of course Shania, this was one loaded with nods to badass idols of mine. Had the vision to do a ‘Before He Cheats’ but instead about after he does haha”.

I wanna start this out and say
I gotta get it off my chest
Got no anger, got no malice
Just a little bit of regret
Know nobody else will tell you
So there’s some things I gotta say
Gonna jot it down and then get it out
And then I’ll be on my way
No, you’re not half the man you think that you are
And you can’t fill the hole inside of you with money, drugs and cars
I’m so glad I never ever had a baby with you
‘Cause you can’t love nothin’ unless there’s somethin’ in it for you
Oh, I feel so sorry
I feel so sad
I tried to help you
It just made you mad
And I had no warnin’
About who you are
I’m just glad I made it out without breakin’ down
And then ran so fuckin’ far
That you would never ever touch me again
Won’t see your alligator tears
‘Cause, no, I’ve had enough of them
Let me start this off by sayin’
I really meant well from the start
Take a broken man right in my hands
And then put back all his parts
But you’re not half the man you think that you are
And you can’t fill the hole inside of you with money, girls and cars
I’m so glad I never ever had a baby with you
‘Cause you can’t love nothin’ unless there’s somethin’ in it for you
Oh, I feel so sorry (I feel so sorry)
I feel so sad (I feel so sad)
I tried to help you (I tried to help you)
It just made you mad
And I had no warnin’ (I had no warnin’)
About who you are (’bout who you)
Just glad I made it out without breakin’ down
Oh, I feel so sorry (I feel so sorry)
I feel so sad (I feel so sad)
I tried to help you (I tried to help you)
It just made you mad
And I had no warnin’ (I had no)
About who you are (’bout who you)
‘Bout who you are
Hey
Hey
Hey
Hey
‘Cause you’re not half the man you think that you are
And you can’t fill the hole inside of you with money, drugs and cars
I’m so glad I never ever had a baby with you
‘Cause you can’t love nothin’ unless there’s somethin’ in it for you
I feel so sad
You should be sad
You should be
You should be sad
You should be
You should be
You should be

The Weeknd – Blinding Lights

♬🎵
This is one of the songs of the moment and it is also one of my favorites: it reminds me of a sound close to that of the 80s.

On December 2, 2019, a commercial video containing footage from a Tesfaye and Mercedes-Benz commercial and the song’s audio video was released. The lyric video for “Blinding Lights” was released on December 6, 2019. Its official music video was shot in Fremont Street, Las Vegas and was released on January 21, 2020. The visual follows the events of the music video for “Heartless” and sees The Weeknd go on a hallucinated joyride through Las Vegas after waking from a trance. It concludes with Tesfaye having flashbacks to a club he attended earlier in the night, where he was serenaded by a mysterious woman, played by Japanese actress Miki Hamano and beat up by a duo of men that forced him to be on the run throughout the video. The video was directed by Anton Tammi, with various actions performed by the singer in the visual being inspired by the films Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Joker, and Casino.

Yeah
I been tryna call
I been on my own for long enough
Maybe you can show me how to love, maybe
I’m going through withdrawals
You don’t even have to do too much
You can turn me on with just a touch, baby
I look around and Sin City’s cold and empty (oh)
No one’s around to judge me (oh)
I can’t see clearly when you’re gone
I said, ooh, I’m blinded by the lights
No, I can’t sleep until I feel your touch
I said, ooh, I’m drowning in the night
Oh, when I’m like this, you’re the one I trust
Hey, hey, hey
I’m running out of time
‘Cause I can see the sun light up the sky
So I hit the road in overdrive, baby
Oh, the city’s cold and empty (oh)
No one’s around to judge me (oh)
I can’t see clearly when you’re gone
I said, ooh, I’m blinded by the lights
No, I can’t sleep until I feel your touch
I said, ooh, I’m drowning in the night
Oh, when I’m like this, you’re the one I trust
I’m just walking by to let you know (by to let you know)
I can never say it on the phone (say it on the phone)
Will never let you go this time (ooh)
I said, ooh, I’m blinded by the lights
No, I can’t sleep until I feel your touch
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey
I said, ooh, I’m blinded by the lights
No, I can’t sleep until I feel your touch
