The autobiography of Val Kilmer, a book entitled “I’m your Huckleberry” was published in the United States in early April. It contains a series of interesting ideas and anecdotes. The actor, who turned 60 on December 31 and who recently had a difficult life due to throat cancer, talks about colleagues and films made, and among these there could not be Top Gun. But it doesn’t end there. Kilmer also tells about his participation in the sequel Top Gun: Maverick, where we will see him reprise the role of the fighter pilot Iceman.
In the autobiography Val Kilmer starts from the first film and talks about his initial skepticism towards the project: “I didn’t want the part” – he writes. “I didn’t care about the movie. I wasn’t interested in the story.” Then he goes on to tell of his audition: “I presented myself with the air of an idiot. I was wearing a pair of ridiculous oversize Australian shorts in vomit green. I read the lines as if I didn’t care. And yet, incredibly, they told me that I got the role, which made me feel disheartened rather than gassed. “
