🎵 Lewis Capaldi – Before You Go

“Before You Go” is a song by Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi, released as a single from the extended edition of his debut studio album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent on 19 November 2019. The song was made available upon pre-order of the extended edition. The song reached number one on the Irish Singles Chart in November 2019 and on the UK Singles Chart in January 2020, becoming Capaldi’s second chart-topper in the UK and third in Ireland.

About the song, Capaldi revealed in a social media post that it “is by far the most personal tune” he has ever written and stated that the previous year has been “absolutely wild” for him. According to Idolator, the song “deals with the emotional aftermath of suicide”.

Gary James of Entertainment Focus described the song as an “emotional track”. Maxamillion Polo of Ones to Watch thought that the song “is a tried-and-true song of heartbreak, one that is not looking to place blame but solve those questions lacking answers” and questioned if Capaldi’s emotional tone was “the result of a greater sense of loss”. Clash Music’s Robin Murray called the track “trademark Capaldi”, further describing it as “a rousing piece of acoustic songwriting with a driving vocal”.

Lyric

I fell by the wayside like everyone else
I hate you, I hate you, I hate you, but I was just kidding myself
Our every moment, I start to replace
‘Cause now that they’re gone, all I hear are the words that I needed to say
When you hurt under the surface
Like troubled water running cold
Well, time can heal, but this won’t
So, before you go
Was there something I could’ve said to make your heart beat better?
If only I’d have known you had a storm to weather
So, before you go
Was there something I could’ve said to make it all stop hurting?
It kills me how your mind can make you feel so worthless
So, before you go
Was never the right time, whenever you called
Went little by little by little until there was nothing at all
Our every moment, I start to replay
But all I can think about is seeing that look on your face
When you hurt under the surface
Like troubled water running cold
Well, some can heal, but this won’t
So, before you go
Was there something I could’ve said to make your heart beat better?
If only I’d have known you had a storm to weather
So, before you go
Was there something I could’ve said to make it all stop hurting?
It kills me how your mind can make you feel so worthless
So, before you go
Would we be better off by now
If I’d have let my walls come down?
Maybe, I guess we’ll never know
You know, you know
Before you go
Was there something I could’ve said to make your heart beat better?
If only I’d have known you had a storm to weather
So, before you go
Was there something I could’ve said to make it all stop hurting?
It kills me how your mind can make you feel so worthless
So, before you go

WhatsApp reaches 2 billion active users. An absolute record

9e79bbcf-fe9e-4134-bd9a-eeac2e07f265

WhatsApp continues to grind record numbers and to say it is the platform itself that announces the record of 2 billion active users. Incredible numbers that clearly make the app among the most used in the world and in terms of messaging certainly the most used. The numbers probably highlight the improvement work that the developers are carrying out in the code by introducing week after week novelties capable of making the application more user friendly. An attention that clearly pleases users who decide to reward the app by using it more than others both in general and in this field.

Dark mode coming soon

After repeated experimental versions, the new Dark Theme publicly arrived on WhatsApp a few weeks ago. In this case the users who can use it daily are only those with the Beta version by installing an APK. How does it work? Basically, users can activate the new mode directly from the settings of the application itself in the “Theme” section. Here three distinct options will appear: Light, Dark and Energy Saving, which will guarantee energy savings by proposing a color with gray tones rather than completely black.

FANTASY ISLAND: remake of a cult series

The producer is Blumhouse Productions, which in recent years has given theaters a vast assortment of horror titles, some of which are valuable as “Insidious” and “Get out”, others in “splatter with panache” style for teenagers. Well, of such a large assortment of titles “Fantasy Island” is probably the worst.

The story sees five lucky prize contest winners land on a lush island. Waiting for them is the manager of a luxury resort, Mr. Roarke (Michael Peña), whose task will be to create a fantasy for each guest.

“Fantasy Island” takes a dated but successful idea and tries to adapt it to meet the tastes of the new generations. The intriguing premises and the suggestive location, however, do not find the right ingredients that make up the whole so it is a missed opportunity. Unnecessarily convoluted and full of illogical narrative overturns, “Fantasy Island” leaves us exhausted: the word “fantasy” is repeated by all the characters in a ridiculously obsessive way, it is not known why every now and then a man appears who is prowling in the jungle (Michael Rooker ), the characters are all annoying or whining and the ending is nothing short of messy, full of course changes

14th February: Valentin’s Day

linus
Valentine’s Day [Peanuts]

Every year on the 14th of February is celebrated the feast of lovers, in honor especially of the Saint Valentine of Terni.

The festival is very old and has gained worldwide importance only in recent centuries. But in recent decades it obviously had a commercial power to make it one of the most important anniversaries of the year.

The gesture (or the most common custom) is the gift of chocolates to the person we love.. But of course there are many other customs, such as a love note, the gift of a plush heart, or any object that symbolizes our affection. However, chocolates are the most popular gift.

The Anglo-Saxon countries have given in the common imagination the idea that the most common gesture was also a love note, especially because it was emphasized by children’s cartoons or films, but also by some writings of shakespeare..
Obviously the gesture of the chocolates is very intimate and there are many gifts more appropriate and relevant to our feeling ..

Short History

There is no evidence of any link between St. Valentine’s Day and the rites of the ancient Roman festival Lupercalia, despite many claims by many authors.[20][45][notes 1][46] The celebration of Saint Valentine did not have any romantic connotations until Chaucer’s poetry about “Valentines” in the 14th century.[26] Popular modern sources claim links to unspecified Greco-Roman February holidays alleged to be devoted to fertility and love to St. Valentine’s Day, but prior to Chaucer in the 14th century, there were no links between the saints named Valentinus and romantic love.[26]

In Ancient Rome, Lupercalia, observed February 13–15, was an archaic rite connected to fertility. Lupercalia was a festival local to the city of Rome. The more general Festival of Juno Februa, meaning “Juno the purifier” or “the chaste Juno”, was celebrated on February 13–14. Pope Gelasius I (492–496) abolished Lupercalia. Some researchers have theorized that Gelasius I replaced Lupercalia with the celebration of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary and claim a connection to the 14th century’s connotations of romantic love, but there is no historical indication that he ever intended such a thing.[46][notes 2][47] Also, the dates do not fit because at the time of Gelasius I, the feast was only celebrated in Jerusalem, and it was on February 14 only because Jerusalem placed the Nativity of Jesus (Christmas) on January 6.[notes 3] Although it was called “Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary”, it also dealt with the presentation of Jesus at the temple.[48] Jerusalem’s Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary on February 14 became the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple on February 2 as it was introduced to Rome and other places in the sixth century, after Gelasius I’s time.[48]

Alban Butler in his Lifes of the Principal Saints (1756–1759) claimed without proof that men and women in Lupercalia drew names from a jar to make couples, and that modern Valentine’s letters originated from this custom. In reality, this practice originated in the Middle Ages, with no link to Lupercalia, with men drawing the names of girls at random to couple with them. This custom was combated by priests, for example by Frances de Sales around 1600, apparently by replacing it with a religious custom of girls drawing the names of apostles from the altar. However, this religious custom is recorded as soon as the 13th century in the life of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, so it could have a different origin

13th February 2020: Galentine’s Day

galentine's-day
Everyone knows that February 14 is Valentine’s Day, the feast of lovers. But not everyone is aware that the day before, on February 13 (exactly today), is Galentine’s Day. What is this anniversary? And why is it important not to let it go unnoticed? It all started with the TV series “Parks and Recreation“: it was the protagonist, Leslie Knope, who named her for the first time. From that moment on, even if it is not yet officially recognized, this day has become increasingly important and many companies are using it for advertising purposes.

February 13 is the party dedicated to friendships, to those important relationships that are part of our life and without which we could not be. It is a way to pay homage to women who celebrate other women, and it is important to remind us of the basic things in life.

“Galentine’s Day” is the 16th episode of the second season of the American comedy television series Parks and Recreation, and the 22nd overall episode of the series. It originally aired on NBC in the United States on February 11, 2010. In the episode, Leslie and her boyfriend Justin seek to reunite Leslie’s mother, Marlene, with her teenage flame. Meanwhile, April’s feelings for Andy continue to bloom, while Ann appears to be growing apart from Mark.

The episode was written by series co-creator Michael Schur and directed by Ken Kwapis. “Galentine’s Day” featured a guest appearance by John Larroquette as Frank Beckerson, the long-lost love of Marlene Griggs-Knope, who was played by Pamela Reed. It also featured the last in a string of guest performances by Justin Theroux as Leslie’s love interest, Justin Anderson.

According to Nielsen Media Research, “Galentine’s Day” was seen by 4.98 million household viewers, which marked

Today is the world day radio

radio

Every year, February 13 is the World Radio Day.

World Radio Day, promoted by UNESCO, serves to remind the importance of the radio instrument in celebrating humanity in all its diversity. And that, despite the technological progress and the advent of the web, it remains the most widespread media globally.

World Radio Day 2020 will be held on Thursday 13 February around the theme of “Radio and diversity.” UNESCO and UN calls on radio stations to uphold diversity, both in their newsroom and on the airwaves.

This edition of this year of World Radio Day is divided into three main sub-themes:

Advocating for pluralism in radio, including a mix of public, private and community broadcasters;
Encouraging representation in the newsroom, with teams representing diverse society groups;
Promoting a diversity of editorial content and programme types reflecting the variety of the audiences.
In the world, radio remains the most widely consumed medium. This unique ability to reach out the widest audience means radio can shape a society’s experience of diversity, stand as an arena for all voices to speak out, be represented and heard. Radio stations should serve diverse communities, offering a wide variety of programs, viewpoints and content, and reflect the diversity of audiences in their organizations and operations. Technological advances are also participating to diversity the radio sector: DAB+, DRM, IP streaming.

Daydreaming

daydreamDaydreaming is always dangerous because it can break our biggest hopes.

In fact, a good dreamer must never reach obsession otherwise he ends up in hopeless despair.

Our dreams are the fruit of our hopes often, even those that are the last to die, but often it is convenient to dream in moderation, almost with virtue so as not to be mocked.

The most illusory dreams are often those where feelings are present but it often happens to also find illusory dreams of one’s work success.

Incredible disqualification of Morgan-Bugo at the sanremo festival [2020]

Bugo-e-Morgan-690x362

Sanremo is over and although there is a winner, the spotlight is on elsewhere. In the penultimate episode of the Saremo festival, an episode never looked after in history happened. During the performance of the Morgan-Bugo duo there were quarrels that led Bugo to leave the stage during the singing, in front of millions of viewers.

No one really knows what happened between the two artists. The sure thing is that Morgan while singing the song (written by himself) has changed the words of the text insulting his friend (probably now ex) and duo companion. Bugo’s reaction was immediate and he left the stage.

Obviously all this implied the disqualification of the duo. And although it is not the first time that a disqualification takes place at the Sanremo festival, it is the first time that it occurs due to abandonment of the stage.

Morgan’s unusual offense would arise from the fact that the previous day, in the cover performances, Bugo made a bad performance. But it would also seem that Morgan, for some of his claims, has only tried the song once, changing the scores of the music, thus leaving Bugo in difficulty.

However, beyond this singular episode, the festival has met with great success and success.

However, although I read some news every time, I avoided seeing the festival … for various reasons.

DIODATO – Fai Rumore [Sanremo 2020]

♫ Here is the winning song of the sanremo festival 2020

LYRIC

Sai che cosa penso,
Che non dovrei pensare,
Che se poi penso sono un animale
E se ti penso tu sei un’anima,
Ma forse è questo temporale
Che mi porta da te,
E lo so non dovrei farmi trovare
Senza un ombrello anche se
Ho capito che
Per quanto io fugga
Torno sempre a te
Che fai rumore qui,
E non lo so se mi fa bene,
Se il tuo rumore mi conviene,
Ma fai rumore sì,
Che non lo posso sopportare
Questo silenzio innaturale
Tra me e te.
E me ne vado in giro senza parlare,
Senza un posto a cui arrivare,
Consumo le mie scarpe
E forse le mie scarpe
Sanno bene dove andare,
Che mi ritrovo negli stessi posti,
Proprio quei posti che dovevo evitare,
E faccio finta di non ricordare,
E faccio finta di dimenticare,
Ma capisco che,
Per quanto io fugga,
Torno sempre a te
Che fai rumore qui,
E non lo so se mi fa bene,
Se il tuo rumore mi conviene,
Ma fai rumore sì,
Che non lo posso sopportare
Questo silenzio innaturale tra me e te.
Ma fai rumore sì,
Che non lo posso sopportare
Questo silenzio innaturale,
E non ne voglio fare a meno oramai
Di quel bellissimo rumore che fai.

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X: the first 64-core desktop CPU

ryzen
It is the first processor for desktop systems with 64 cores inside and represents the fastest currently available on the market. However, it requires applications that are able to take advantage of the high number of cores present to give the best. It is therefore not for everyone, starting from the price: 3,999 dollars!

The Ryzen Threadripper family of processors debuted on the market with the first versions in the summer of 2017, representing a radical novelty compared to what AMD previously offered. For the first time, in fact, the American company has been able to offer a product intended specifically for the field of HEDT systems, High-End Desktop, putting itself in direct contrast with the range of Intel solutions of the Core-X series.

In the comparison between the two families of Intel and AMD HEDT CPUs, some differences immediately became clear: AMD aimed to offer a higher number of cores, clearly evident with the transition to the number of 32 in the debut of the second generation Ryzen Threadripper CPUs , while Intel has benefited from higher clock rates and superior single-core efficiency. The particular architecture of the first two generations of Ryzen Threadripper processor, borrowed directly from the EPYC proposals for datacenters, also represented a limit with those applications highly dependent on the latency of access to system memory.

However, everything has changed with the debut of the third generation of Ryzen Threadripper processors, based on Zen 2 architecture and built with 7 nanometer production technology, which took place last November. AMD presented two models, equipped with 24 and 32 core architecture respectively, anticipating the debut of a third version capable of offering 64 internal cores.
